Ram Truck Announced Second Phase of “Built to Serve” Edition Pickups

February 10th, 2022 by

Ram announced the second phase of its Built to Serve pickups, with this most recent reveal honoring first responders such as firefighters, police officers and emergency medical service personnel that serve or have served their communities. Ram initially honored each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces throughout 2021. Up first in the latest “Built to Serve” lineup is the installment honoring the firefighter community. Production is slated to begin at the end of the month (February 2022) at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant in Michigan.

“After honoring each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces with our initial Built to Serve models, we felt it would be equally important to also extend our gratitude to all first responders who serve or have served our communities. Whether a first responder or civilian, Ram truck owners are very familiar with this adage as it’s something we strive to build into every truck and van we produce,” said Mike Koval Jr., Ram brand CEO–Stellantis.

As is customary, each of the first responders services will be honored by the truck maker with two special edition pickups in unique low-volume exterior paint shades that evoke the spirit, history and mission of that particular service. The upcoming firefighter-inspired Ram 1500 Built to Serve Edition will come in Redline and Black exterior colors, along with a black interior with orange accent stitching. Additionally, Ram 1500 Built to Serve pickup trucks also come with other interior and exterior features that set them apart from the rest of the lineup, including a Built to Serve decal on each of the rear quarter panels and a United States flag badge.

On the outside, Built to Serve pickups also come with stylish exterior design cues, including black bumpers, an all-black grille and surround, black-bezel premium lighting, and 20-inch aluminum wheels with a unique-to-the-edition Technical Gray finish. Ram also uses body-color wheel flares to accent the exterior. Completing the overall look are black wheel-to-wheel side steps, dual four-inch black exhaust tips, and black badges.

Owners can display their first responder pride thanks to the pickup’s Built to Serve-embroidered Velcro panels on the front seats as well as the front of each seat inboard shoulder panel. Customization is appealing as owners can apply their own patches– name tapes, flags, or even slogans.

Ram 1500 Built to Serve editions also feature:

  • “Built to Serve” instrument panel badge
  • Lockable console storage (optional)
  • Deeply bolstered performance cloth and vinyl Sport seats
  • Black Onyx Chrome interior trim
  • All-weather rubber slush mats

Ram 1500 Built to Serve models come loaded with 4×4 Off-Road Group content, including:

  • All-terrain tires
  • Electronic-locking rear axle
  • Hill-descent control
  • Front suspension skid plate
  • Steering gear skid plate
  • Fuel tank skid plate
  • Transfer case skid plate
  • Tow hooks
  • Heavy-duty off-road-calibrated front and rear shock absorbers

The Ram 1500 Built to Serve edition has an MSRP of $46,625 (plus destination fee) and goes on sale during the spring of 2022.
