What gives the modern Dodge Challenger its rock-solid wheel fitment? The Dodge Challenger lug pattern is 5×115 millimeters (mm) (5 x 4.53 inches) on the current-generation muscle car. The first number counts the wheel studs, and the second is the diameter of the circle they sit on. Earlier generations used different patterns, so identifying yours matters before you shop. What Is the Dodge Challenger Lug Pattern?

A lug pattern, also called a bolt pattern or pitch circle diameter, describes two things at once. The five in 5×115 means five wheel studs project from the hub. The 115 is the diameter in millimeters of the circle that those studs trace. Every current-generation Challenger shares this arrangement, from the base coupe through the supercharged Widebody variants, so trim level alone never changes it.

What trim level does change is nearly everything else. Wheel width, diameter, and offset all shift across the lineup. Matching the pattern is necessary, but on its own, it won’t tell you whether a wheel clears your brakes or seats correctly on the hub.

The Challenger nameplate has run in three separate stretches, and the lug pattern changed twice along the way. The four-lug middle generation is the outlier because it was a rebadged Mitsubishi Galant Lambda rather than a Chrysler-engineered muscle car. Specs That Matter Beyond the Lug Pattern

Center bore is the next measurement to check. The current-generation Challenger is hub-centric, meaning the machined lip at the center of the hub carries the vehicle’s weight, while the studs simply clamp the wheel in place. An aftermarket wheel with a larger bore sits lug-centric instead, which invites steering vibration and uneven tire wear. Hub-centric rings close that gap, and we can confirm the exact bore for your vehicle.

Offset and width vary by trim and drive configuration, and properly equipped models left the factory with wheels measuring 18 to 20 inches in diameter. Lug nut torque also differs by trim and model year, so check your owner’s manual or ask a service advisor rather than assuming one figure covers every Challenger.

How to Confirm Your Challenger Wheel Fitment

  1. Confirm your generation and its pattern using the table above.
  2. Measure the center bore and plan on hub-centric rings if the wheel bore is larger than the hub bore.
  3. Check offset and width against clearance at the fender and the brake caliper.
  4. Verify the lug nut seat type, then torque to the specification for your trim.

One caution on that last step: aftermarket wheels often require a different lug nut seat than the factory hardware provides. Conical, spherical, and flat seats aren’t interchangeable, and reusing the wrong nuts can loosen a correctly patterned wheel.

Q: Do the Challenger and Charger have the same lug pattern?

A: The Charger, built alongside the Challenger on the same platform, uses the same 5×115 millimeter wheel pattern, so wheels frequently cross over between the two. The redesigned Charger that followed moved to a different platform, and its specifications should be verified separately.

Q: Will 5×114.3 wheels fit a modern Challenger?

A: No. The 0.7 millimeter difference in pitch circle diameter pushes every stud off center, and no lug nut corrects that. Wheels advertised as 5×114.3 aren’t a safe substitute, however close the two numbers look on paper.

Q: Do wheel spacers change the Challenger lug pattern?

A: Spacers with a matching pattern push the wheel outward without altering it, while adapters convert one pattern to another. Either option changes your effective offset, so match the hub carefully and torque all hardware to specification.
