Car and Driver Names Ram 1500 to its 10Best Vehicles for 2021 List
The Ram 1500 continues its crusade to be the best light-duty pickup out there. This time the successful model earned a spot on Car and Driver’s “10Best Vehicles for 2021” list for the third consecutive year. While the award applies to all trims of the 2021 Ram 1500, the pickup is the only one from its category to secure a spot on this year’s list. Car and Driver uses a 100-point scale to evaluate each contender against one another in their respective categories, while each score is based on how well a vehicle meets its intended purpose and design. Additional categories include value and how compelling vehicles are to operate. The designation is intended to celebrate the smartest and most entertaining cars, SUVs, and vans on sale today. Vehicles will continue to be judged with a special focus on value, capability, and if they’re fun to drive.

Why the Ram 1500 Is So Beloved
Like we mentioned earlier, this marks the third year in a row the Ram 1500 — officially the most awarded light-duty truck in America — earns a spot on Car and Driver’s 10Best list. Car and Driver editors put vehicles to the test throughout the course of two weeks as they drive, measure, test, and scrutinize over 70 cars, trucks, SUVs, and vans. Initially, Car and Driver editors are tasked with the exhaustive task of narrowing this year’s top contenders by evaluating new and refreshed models, while also giving special attention to last year’s defending honorees. Any vehicle with a base price that exceeds $90,0000 is automatically excluded from the running, as editors firmly believe that anything with a price in that realm more than guarantees excellence.
