There’s No Stopping Ram Trucks in 2019
Ram has been on a winning streak lately, gaining more credibility as a truck maker that never disappoints. The 2020 Ram heavy-duty pickup is sure to exceed expectations as it offers buyers powerful engines to choose from, responsive performance, intense capability and a fresh redesign. Editors over at U.S. News and World Report seem to think the same since they included the refreshed truck on its list – “Future Trucks 2020: The Best New Pickup Trucks Arriving Next Year.” Here’s what they had to say about the 2020 Ram heavy-duty pickup.
“Ram has a history of powerful trucks that are known for towing, hauling, and performance. The Ram 2500 and 3500 HD take that reputation to an even higher level. The new Ram features a high-strength steel frame that helps lower weight, offers greater capacities and gives high level of torsional rigidity,” said U.S. News & World Report writer Brian McHugh.
As we mentioned earlier, prospective buyers can choose between two powerful engines – besides the standard – on the 2020 Ram heavy-duty models. There’s a turbo diesel engine that generates 370 horsepower and up to 850 lb-ft of torque when paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The standard is a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine paired to an eight-speed transmission that generates 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. The best option for prospective buyers who are looking to demand a lot of their trucks is the Cummins 6.7-liter diesel inline-six engine that’s paired to a six-speed automatic transmission, generating 400 horsepower and a whopping 1,000 lb-ft of torque that’s sure to get the job done.
The revamped 2020 heavy-duty is no slouch when it comes to safety. There’s an innovative 360-degree camera system so drivers can be aware of their surroundings at all times, a selectable tire pressure feature, and automatic emergency braking. All of these features come standard. Beyond the standard features, the 2020 Ram heavy-duty pickups are made of durable high-strength steel that reduces overall weight and makes this Ram model an extremely durable truck.
Said durable trucks are inching closer and closer to the competition as Ram Trucks just reported its best month of sales since the brand detached from Dodge to become its own standalone division back in 2009. Ram pickup sales rose a whopping 56 percent to 68,098 units during June 2019 when compared to last year. Ram pickup sales finished at 179,454 units for the quarter as well.
“For the first half of 2019, Ram has been on a tear since we made the strategic decision to enter the year with a three-truck strategy. The new Ram 1500, Ram Classic and Heavy Duty are all generating a huge response from customers and critics alike. This is now the third month Ram pickup sales have surpassed 60,000 since December. Our dealers had a steady stream of customers all month long,” said Reid Bigland, Head of U.S. Sales.
