The new 2017 Ram Power Wagon made its debut in fall 2016 and it is an off-roading machine. But Ram didn’t want to limit consumers looking for an off-road heavy-duty truck to only one trim, so they added the Power Wagon’s off-roading features into a special 4×4 Off-road package available on various trims on the 2017 Ram 2500 lineup.

Unlike the 2017 Ram Power Wagon, which is only available as a 4×4 crew cab, the 4×4 Off-road Package is available on Ram 2500 Heavy Duty crew cab and mega cab 4×4 models. Buyers of a truck with the 4×4 Off-road Package have the option of several different exterior colors, unlike the Ram Power Wagon, which is only available in select colors.

Aside from the Power Wagon’s front winch, the 4×4 Off-road Package includes almost all of the same exterior equipment that makes the truck extremely capable when off-roading and exploring. The Off-road 4×4 Package includes tow hooks, on-/off-road tires, hill descent control and a limited slip differential. To prevent the equipment that is on the bottom of the truck, the Off-road Package includes a transfer skid plate and the truck’s Bilstein shocks provide extra cushion when the truck makes big drops off rocks or uneven terrain.

Want a truck to go off-roading? Ram is the off-road leader and they have a variety of options for the consumer looking to explore. In addition to the Ram Power Wagon and Off-road 4×4 package, Ram also has popular Ram 1500 Rebel, another exclusive off-roading model.
