Ram 1500, Ram Heavy Duty Models Nab a Spot on KBB’s 2021 Best Resale Value Awards

March 10th, 2021 by

Kelley Blue Book (KBB) deemed the Ram 1500 and Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty pickups worthy of a few spots on the publication’s 2021 Best Resale Value Awards. 2021 marks the second consecutive year in which both the Ram 1500 and Ram 2500/3500 capture spots on KBB’s Top 10 Vehicles for Best Resale Value list. KBB bases the Best Resale Value Awards on projections that come directly from the publication’s Official Residual Value Guide, with a skilled staff of automotive analysts at the helm who get the final word. The distinguished awards highlight vehicles expected to maintain a large proportion of their original list price even after five years of ownership.

“Shoppers who choose to buy a 2021 model from one of our Best Resale Value Brand winners can be very confident that their vehicle will retain its value well over time,” said Eric Ibara, Director of Residual Values for KBB.

Ram 1500

Ram broke new ground when it debuted the current-generation Ram 1500 as the model currently sets the no-compromise benchmark for its segment in terms of technology, durability, efficiency, performance, and overall convenience with accents and features never before seen in a pickup. The 2021 Ram 1500 has a towing capacity of 12,750 pounds and has a 2,300-lb payload capacity. Ram Truck included an eTorque mild hybrid system to improve fuel economy numbers in its V6 and V8 configurations. Simultaneously, the EcoDiesel-powered pickup is rated at an unrivaled 33 mpg on the highway and the ability to deliver up to 1,000 miles of range on a sole tank of fuel.

Ram Truck also shook up the full-size pickup segment by introducing the 12-inch infotainment touchscreen displays that feature split-screen capability, exclusive content from SiriusXM with 360L, 360-degree camera views, and much more. Ram also introduced the Ram 1500 TRX for the 2021 model year — a pickup with extreme off-road capability that’s well on its way to becoming the quickest, fastest, and most potent mass-produced pickup on the globe. The Ram 1500 TRX is poised to become the first vehicle in the brand’s light-duty pickups to feature the latest Know & Go mobile app. The Know & Go mobile app is an immersive experience for Ram Truck owners who want to learn more about their pickups.

Ram Heavy Duty

Performance and towing capacity figures remain the name of the game when it comes to the segment’s most refined heavy-duty pickups, the 2021 Ram 2500 and 2021 Ram 3500. With a towing capacity of up to 37,100 pounds and a payload of 7,680 pounds, the Ram Heavy Duty does not disappoint. Additionally, models powered by the refined Cummins Inline-six Turbo Diesel engine have an off-the-charts 1,000 lb-ft of torque.

Although the Ram Heavy Duty is quite the recognized workhorse, it sets other segment benchmarks such as the use of luxury materials, technology, and overall innovation that overshadows any past competitive offerings. Ram Truck accomplishes world-class riding and handling thanks to a complex and class-exclusive link-coil rear suspension system equipped with an optional rear air suspension. Gone are the days of boring workhorses; the Ram Heavy Duty lineup looks forward with technology and modern capability at the helm.
