Mopar Offers a New Efficient Accessory For Ram Trucks
Mopar, the official aftermarket parts provider for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), expanded its product lineup for Ram Trucks. Those seeking to enhance the functionality and utility of their pickup will be glad to know that Mopar now offers a retractable center-mounted bed step that works in tandem with the Ram 1500’s exclusive multifunction tailgate.
The step, like other Mopar products, is factory-backed and adds another layer of functionality for customers seeking cargo-access flexibility without much compromise. Ram made waves in 2019 when it introduced its multifunction tailgate, the first of its kind with a 60/40 split swing-away doors. As they open at an 88 degree angle, the tailgate doors make it easier to load and unload bulky cargo, clean out the truck bed, and load forklifts. The new Mopar bed step works with an easy push of the foot, deploying it from beneath the rear bumper.

The Mopar bed step was specifically designed to be paired with the multifunction tailgate and is made of high-strength aluminum, can withstand up to 350 pounds in weight and has a black e-coat finish. The aftermarket part retails at $395. Other Ram factory-engineered steps that are available from Mopar include:
Ram 1500 Classic: The Mopar bed step accessory swings out from the driver’s side of the bumper and subsequent;y retracts to its original position. This step is rated to hold up to 300 pounds and retails at $304.
Ram 1500: The Mopar bed step accessory is housed within the bumper and lowers down for easy access. It’s load-rated to withstand up to 350 pounds and retails for $365.
Ram Heavy Duty: The Heavy Duty pickups can be upgraded to include a high-strength aluminum bed step with a black powder-coat finish. Similar to the bed steps on the other models, this one is housed under the rear bumper when not in use and swings down for easy access. It is rated to withstand up to 350 pounds and retails at $365.
All Mopar bed steps can be purchased as a vehicle option or as a single part in the U.S. and Canada. Mopar offers a standard factory-backed warranty coverage, including two years/unlimited miles (from the original date of purchase) or it correlates with whatever’s left of the new vehicle’s standard warranty of three years or 36,000 miles — whichever comes first.
