Introducing the 2022 Ram 1500 BackCountry Edition
Some may find the Ram Trucks lineup to already be expansive, but the pickup maker recently introduced a new BackCountry Edition package for its incredibly popular Ram 1500 Big Horn and Lone Star models. The latest offerings from Ram Trucks will be on display at the Chicago Auto Show. Ram Truck is determined to be North America’s off-road truck leader and with the Ram 1500 BackCountry the light-duty lineup, the brand’s well on its way. BackCountry combines comfort, off-road capability, and convenience in one package and resonates among truck buyers. Robust off-road features on the Ram 1500 BackCountry help the pickup stay true to the hardworking nature of the Ram 1500.

What Buyers Can Expect From the Ram 1500 BackCountry
Buyers can expect the 2022 Ram 1500 BackCountry to include 18-inch black wheels, black badging, exhaust tips, mirrors, headlamp bezels, and running boards, along with black two-tone exterior paint. There’s also a body-color grille surround and a Tonneau cover, helping separate the Ram 1500 BackCountry from the remainder of the light-duty pickup lineup. Ram was also very generous with the standard functional features, such as the stellar 4×4 Off-Road Group, which includes skid plates for the front suspension, tow hooks, power steering, rear electronic locking axle, hill-descent control, all-terrain tires, and a transfer case. Bed Utility Group is also included and a bed extender (available with RamBox only), bed lighting, deployable bed step, spray-in bed liner, and upper adjustable tie-downs.
On the inside, buyers of the 2022 Ram 1500 BackCountry can find a black interior with bucket seats, while a BackCountry badge is on the instrument panel and Mopar all-weather slush mat. The 2022 Ram 1500 BackCountry is available in 4×4 Quad, as well as 4×4 Crew Cab configurations. Buyers can choose from both the 5.7-liter V8 and 5.7-liter V8 engine with eTorque mild-hybrid assist. The new 2022 Ram 1500 BackCountry Edition is slated to go on sale during the third quarter of 2021 and has a starting MSRP of $40,085 (plus destination fee).
