Dodge Looks to the Swinging 60s & 70s for the Latest “Last Call” Models

University Dodge Last Call Swinger

Dodge continues its “Last Call” announcements, this time introducing the special-edition 2023 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Swinger and 2023 Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack Swinger. These models represent the automaker’s third and fourth offerings of its seven special-edition Dodge “Last Call” models. The Swinger moniker is a nod to the unique style of Dodge’s “swinging” muscle car lineup from the late 60s and early 70s. Back in the day, Dodge offered the Dodge Dart Swinger, a member of Dodge’s original “Scat Pack” club. Not only did the Dodge Dart Swinger offer buyers some formidable horsepower, but it also packed a “groovy” punch with green-on-green color combinations, wood panel interior touches, and gold color accents.

Now in 2023, the Dodge Challenger Scat Pack Swinger and Dodge Charger Scat Pack Swinger offer buyers a modern-day take on the groovy past. While looking back for heritage inspiration, Dodge delivers two vehicles with a throwback exterior and interior appearance clad in modern amenities. The Swinger special edition vehicles join the recently-announced Dodge Challenger Shakedown and Dodge Charger Super Bee models. The automaker’s “Last Call” models are intended to celebrate both muscle cars as their gasoline-powered form is coming to a close.

Dodge will reveal six special-edition Challenger and Charger models through September 21 (2022), while the last–and seventh–reveal is set to happen at the 2022 SEMA Show in Las Vegas that’s scheduled for November (2022).

“The name says it all–the originals had a unique, fun character, and that’s the same reaction we’re hoping for with our 2023 Dodge Challenger and Charger R/T Scat Pack Swinger models. Dodge Swinger models have always held a unique spot in the Dodge muscle car pantheon, and these modern-day models bring that fun back to life,” said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge Brand Chief Executive Officer–Stellantis.

Just like the previously revealed Dodge “Last Call” models, both the 2023 Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack Swinger will be manufactured in limited supply. Dodge is making just 1,000 units of each, all Widebody models. Buyers looking to recreate the green-on-green effect can choose from Sublime Green and F8 Green shades, but Dodge also made a White Knuckle shade available as well.
