Choosing the 2022 Ram 1500 Over the Ford F-150 Is Easy to Do
The truck wars are never-ending and the 2022 Ram 1500 is busy attempting to dethrone the Ford F-150. Although the Ford F-150 rides high as America’s best-selling truck, there are plenty of reasons to choose the 2022 Ram 1500 instead. While the entry-level price of the Ram 1500 exceeds that of the Ford F-150, buyers can experience much more value behind the wheel of a standard Ram 1500 instead of the F-150. To be clear, the entry-level trim of the 2022 Ram 1500 includes keyless entry, automatic headlights, an in-cabin air filtration system, 18-inch wheels, and much more.
When it comes to a premium cabin, the 2022 Ram 1500 doesn’t take any shortcuts as it’s clad with high-quality materials. Additionally, the Ram 1500 also offers buyers the most passenger space in the light-duty pickup segment, as well as a massive center console and additional cargo solutions. Its quiet interior is also lauded as it seamlessly traverses any and all kinds of terrain, while the seats are adequately padded to provide optimum comfort during long drives and the climate control system is responsive and effective. And while the 2022 Ford F-150 is comfortable, its riding and handling can’t hold a candle to the 2022 Ram 1500 as wind and road noise are noticeable at faster speeds.
Unlike Ford, Ram Trucks actually offers buyers a diesel engine option in the form of its turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel engine. With 260 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque from a diesel engine, the competition is eclipsed when it’s not even entering the ring. The 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 features an EPA-estimated fuel efficiency range of 22 mpg in the city and up to 33 mpg on the highway, impressive for a workhorse this size. Additionally, when properly equipped the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel has towing capacity for up to 12,560 pounds. Critics laud the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel as an affordable upgrade that doesn’t compromise on power and performance, smooths overall acceleration, and helps buyers save hundreds of dollars in fuel costs during ownership.
Reliability is one of the most sought after qualities when it comes to getting behind the wheel of a new vehicle. According to the publication Consumer Reports, the 2022 Ford F-150 is less favorably rated than the Ram 1500 when it comes to reliability. Consumer Reports arrives at these rankings thanks to polling conducted on previous model year’s owners. In the long run, it appears that the F-150 could pose more of a headache than the Ram 1500. Additionally, with proper love and care, a Ram 1500 can reach up to 250,000 miles, as opposed to Ford’s 200,000 miles cap, making it a better choice as the Ram 1500 can provide more years of service.
Should we go on? The 2022 Ram 1500 is certified comfortable, provides various engine options, and has the ability to outlast the Ford F-150. Surely it deserves your attention.
