A Battle of Interiors: 2022 Ram 1500 Limited v 2022 Ford F-150 Limited

December 30th, 2021 by

Buyers that haven’t perused the automotive market in a while might be surprised to learn that pickup trucks are moving on up! Plenty of modern pickups, including the 2022 Ram 1500 Limited and Ford F-150 Limited, certainly tick off all luxurious boxes. Interiors wrapped in premium leather, upscaled infotainment displays, amenities like heated or ventilated seats– they can all be found on modern pickups. The segment as a whole has come a long way from its humble beginnings. Let’s take a closer look at how the Ram 1500 Limited and Ford F-150 Limited compare.

2022 Ram 1500 Limited

Buyers can expect color-coordinated interiors, light-gray accents, and plenty of detailing. There are quilted door panels, A-pillar grab handles, and improved touchpoints on the front doors. Just like the Ford F-150 Limited, the Ram 1500 Limited also offers buyers plenty of chrome trimmings inside the cabin. Analog gauges are standard, but uniformity is key as all gauges feature the same three-dimensional appearance, while the displays come with high-quality graphics. In the dashboard, the 12-inch touchscreen display takes center stage as one of the more celebrated features of the modern pickup. While both pickups have comparable seating room, Ram stands out because of its comfort, thanks to an adjustable rear bench seat with a reclining backrest.

Ford F-150 Limited

Ford opted for a charming blue and slate color scheme on the F-150 Limited, and prospective buyers can expect a suede-style headliner, carbon fiber accents, and leather upholstery among many other features. That said, while the F-150 can be considered stylish, it loses significant points when it comes to the knurled-chrome accents that cheapen the cabin. Taking a cue from Jeep, Ford added numerous Easter eggs throughout the cabin with the inclusion of American flag graphics and more. The cabin loses even more points thanks to the inclusion of a hard-plastic trim. Additionally, while the Limited trim is supposed to be top-tier in its model lineup, lower-spec F-150 features, such as A-pillar grab handles and an underwhelming console trim, can be found on the F-150 Limited. Like the Ram 1500 Limited, Ford’s dashboard includes a 12-inch digital instrument display that’s readily accessible. In the rear, the F-150 Limited does feature plenty of legroom for adults, but the rear-seat cushion measures up a bit short.

And the Winner is…

While the Ford F-150 Limited is a perfectly acceptable pickup truck, it’s the Ram 1500 Limited that stands out thanks to its premium amenities and its upscale interior. As of right now, the Ram 1500 Limited remains the ultimate luxury pickup.
