The Latest Hellcat is Out of the Bag
Dodge is back to bringing the heat with its latest offering, the 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye. Officially the most powerful sedan and fastest mass-produced sedan in the world, the 2021 Charger Hellcat Redeye features nearly 800 horsepower — 797 to be exact — to the pavement. Clad in an integrated Widebody exterior, the new Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye features fender flares that add 3.5 inches of body width, 20-inch Lightweight Carbon Black wheels, large Pirelli tires that expand the vehicle’s tire tread on the pavement, and a new (and functional) performance hood for an improved sinister look. Dealer orders will open this fall (2020) for the 2021 Dodge Charger, including the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye, with vehicles scheduled to arrive in dealerships in early 2021.
“The magic of the Dodge Charger is that it delivers all the performance of a true American muscle car while also being able to deliver a family of four or five, day in and day out. The Charger is a big, comfortable, five-passenger sedan that can run the quarter-mile in the mid-10s, 0-60 [mph] in the mid 3s and reach a top speed of 203 mph, and be your daily driver,” said Tim Kuniskis, Global Head of Alfa Romeo and Head of Passenger Cars — Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA — North America.
As the automaker continues to push for more, enthusiasts demand more power, more bragging rights, and more performance from Dodge. The 2021 Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye was inspired by the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon with its supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI high-output V8 engine, complete with 797 horsepower and 707 lb-ft of torque. And like its Demon brother, the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye also features 25 major component upgrades, including strengthened connecting rods and pistons, an improved lubrication system, a strengthened fuel injection system, a better high-speed valve train, and a larger supercharger.
Speaking of features and changes, the newly designed performance hood of the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye isn’t sinister in looks only, it also provides maximum air intake to the supercharged engine, helping the vehicle boost its power. Not only does this performance hood take full advantage of the vehicle’s air intake system, but it’s also sealed to the air box for optimum performance. The front fascia rounds out the menacing looks with a mail-slot grille that provides another venue for cold air to travel into the radiator to help maintain a cool temperature despite the hottest conditions. The model’s even got side sills that connect the front and rear fascias to one another as a way to amplify the vehicle’s overall integrated design.
