The 2023 Dodge Charger King Daytona Steps Up for its “Last Call”
Dodge continued its ongoing unveiling of “Last Call” vehicles for its muscle car lineup with the addition of the 2023 Dodge Charger King Daytona. Inspired by the king of the west coast racing scene, William “Big Willie” Robinson, who famously nicknamed his 1969 Dodge Charger the “King Daytona,” the latest offering from Dodge breaks the mold. Dodge set out to honor the original by bumping up performance to a whopping 80$ horsepower, an intricate exterior in the Go mango shade, and orange interior accents and trims.
Representing the fifth of seven “Last Call” edition models that showcase the Dodge Charger and Challenger, the 2023 Charger King Daytona follows in the footsteps of the Dodge Challenger Shakedown, Dodge Charger Super Bee, and Dodge Challenger and Charger Scat Pack Swinger editions. Given that electrification marks the end of the road for these muscle cars, Dodge wanted to please enthusiasts with the addition of seven “Last Call” edition models. Only two other special edition reveals remain as the automaker plans to show off the seventh and final special edition vehicle at the 2022 SEMA Show in Las Vegas this November.
“The special-edition Dodge Charger King Daytona honors a true icon of muscle car history. The final Dodge ‘Last Call’ models will continue to celebrate the legacy of the Dodge Charger and Challenger by paying tribute to two vehicles that hold a special place in our brand’s history,” said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge brand chief executive officer – Stellantis.
