The 2016 Dodge Dart has awesome engine options
The 2016 Dodge Dart is a lot of car at an affordable price. The Dart’s base trim starts out at just $16,495 and the Dart’s five trim packages help make the Dart appealing to a wide variety of drivers. While there are a variety of interior and exterior options and features on most cars, the Dart has a range of mechanical choices, such as engine specs and transmission type, that help buyers purchase the best car for them.
There are four different engines available across the Dart line. The 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that produces 160-horsepower is standard on the Dart SE, the Dart’s most basic trim. A 2.4-liter multiair four-cylinder engine is standard on the Dart SXT, Limited, and GT trim. These trims also have an option for a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder, PZEV M-air engine. The Dart’s final engine choice, the 1.4-liter multiair turbo engine, is only available on the Dodge Dart Aero and is the most fuel-efficient.
The Dart comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission, giving the driver complete command of the road. But a choice in automatic transmissions is offered and these options are a six-speed PowerTech, or a dual clutch six-speed automatic AutoStick.
With different engine sizes, each of the Dart’s four engine options have different fuel economies. The most fuel-efficient engine is the 1.4-liter, multiair turbo engine, which receives 28 MPG city and 41 MPG highway. The standard 2.0-liter engine that is on the most basic Dart SE, receives 25 MPG city and 36 MPG highway. While slightly more powerful, the 2.4-liter engines are still fuel efficient with an average of 23 MPG city and 33 MPG highway.
