Ram Releases An All-New 2018 Harvest Edition Chassis Cab Trucks
Just in time for harvest season – earlier this month Ram launched the all-new edition of the 2018 Harvest Edition Chassis Cab Trucks. Aimed primarily for America’s farm families, the 2018 Ram Harvest Edition is an agricultural market-specific truck. South Florida and Southwest Florida Ram dealers know a farmer’s equipment is as important as a good rain storm. That’s why Ram has created these special editions as a bit of a celebration for these hard-working folks.
After its unveiling at the Husker Harvest Days in Grand Island, Nebraska, the 2018 Ram Harvest Edition will be available in two different limited-edition colors – Case IH Red and New Holland Blue, while brilliant black and bright white are still available. The Case IH Red and New Holland Blue mirror the red and blue colors of the Case IH and New Holland tractors. Along with other agricultural equipment, Case IH and New Holland tractors are manufactured by subsidiaries of CNH Industrial and also share a common ancestry with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V.
“Addressing a direct request from farmers, Ram is the only manufacturer to offer Chassis Cab commercial trucks in colors that match two of the most popular lines of farm equipment in the nation,” said Jim Morrison, Head of Ram Brand – FCA North America. “The Ram Harvest Edition Chassis Cab delivers high capability and gives farming families a way to show their agricultural brand loyalty.”
The 2018 Ram Harvest Edition Chassis Cab will be offered in the Ram 3500 single-rear-wheel (SRW) and dual-rear-wheel (DRW) configurations. The Ram Harvest Edition will also be available in the Ram 4500 and 5500 Chassis Cabs in DRW configuration with all four-door crew cab and two-door regular cab configurations. Additionally, 4×4 versions with the 6.4-liter HEMI V8 or 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel under the hood are available powertrains. As previously mentioned, the Harvest Edition trucks will be offered in two limited-edition red and blue exterior paint options. Furthermore, the Harvest Edition trucks will be distinguished by chrome headlights on the side steps, door handles, mirrors, and the grille.
Equipped with a ton of functional features that are designed for heavy-duty work, the 2018 Ram Harvest Edition Chassis Cab includes sizeable front tow hooks, a transfer case skid plate, side steps, fog lamps, and a rear back-up camera. Body color wheel flares and upper fascia are also part of the Harvest Edition package – both can also be ordered with bright silver wheel flares and fascia. Polished aluminum wheels also enhance the exterior style of the Harvest Edition and are available in 18-inches on the 3500 models and 19.5-inches on the 4500 and 5500 models.
The interior cabin of the Ram Harvest Edition is loaded with standard technology like a 7-inch reconfigurable cluster that displays engine hours, operating temperatures and filter conditions. A leather-wrapped steering wheel, auto-dimming rearview mirror, power-sliding rear window (for crew cab trucks), and steering-wheel audio controls are also included in the package. Optional interior features include an 8.4-inch Uconnect 4C touchscreen display with navigation, 4G Wi-Fi capability, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, plus SiriusXM weather to help consumers stay up-to-date with weather and potential storms that can be customized to any location.
In supporting the future of farming and the development of the next generation of farmers and agriculture leaders, it’s clear that this will continue to be the foundation of Ram’s success. Expected to go on sale towards the end of 2018, the Ram Harvest Edition Chassis Cab is priced depending on the model. The Ram 3500 MSRP starts at $43,990, Ram 4400 starts at $48,140, and the Ram 5500 starts at $49,240 – excluding the destination fee.
