Ram 1500 Classic Soldiers on for 2024 Model Year

Indeed, the fourth-generation Dodge Ram, which made its debut back in 2009, remains a viable option as a new truck to this day (2024). A spokesperson from Ram has officially confirmed that the Ram 1500 Classic will extend its lineup into the 2024 model year. While not currently featured on the automaker’s website, details are actively being finalized, with plans to unveil them before the launch of the 2024 configurator.
In its 2023 lineup, the Ram 1500 Classic featured only two trims: the work-oriented Tradesman and the robust Warlock. Among these, the Tradesman presented buyers with a traditional single-cab/long box configuration, available in both Quad and Crew Cab setups. On the other hand, the Warlock trim was exclusively offered in Quad or Crew Cab configurations instead.
Upcoming Changes?
Minor adjustments to the available options might be possible; however, given that this platform has been in existence for 16 years, substantial changes should not be anticipated. Both trims come equipped with a standard 3.6-liter V6, and the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 is available as an upgrade. Power is managed through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Despite the platform’s origins dating back to the end of the aughts era, modern features include a 7.0-inch touchscreen in the center stack, complemented by a plethora of buttons.
In the absence of significant changes, it’s easy to suggest the base price is unlikely to undergo substantial increases. This is a key factor contributing to the continued existence of the Ram 1500 Classic. For 2023, the Ram 1500 Classic started at $34,340, inclusive of Ram’s $1,995 destination charge. Notably, this is approximately $6,000 less than the starting price of the least expensive 2024 Ram 1500, and about $4,000 below the entry-level F-150s and Silverado 1500s. For budget-conscious buyers seeking a new full-size truck, this renders the Ram 1500 Classic an enticing option.
Ram 1500 Classic Towing Capacity & More
With the inclusion of the optional 5.7L HEMI V8 engine and the TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, the current Ram 1500 Classic achieves an impressive maximum towing capacity of 10,620 pounds. Buyers experience the intersection of practicality and comfort within the interior of the Ram 1500 Classic. The expansive cabin features convenient storage solutions, showcasing how this iconic truck seamlessly meshes rugged utility with contemporary styling. The Ram 1500 Classic Warlock offers premium black cloth seats adorned with medium gray accent stitching. These seats are provided as standard in a 40/20/40 split bench front configuration or are optionally available as front bucket seats accompanied by a full-length floor console.
Ram 1500 Classic Standard Safety Features
Ensuring protection is a top priority for every vehicle within the Ram Brand, and the 2023 Ram 1500 Classic is no exception. Buyers can rely on a wide array of standard and optional safety and security features designed to provide assistance at every turn. Crafted with the well-being of your passengers in focus, the 2023 Ram 1500 Classic presents a range of standard safety and security features to enhance protection. Electronic Stability Control aids in maintaining control, especially in challenging conditions. Additionally, Hill Start Assist and Trailer Sway Control provide valuable assistance when the pickup tows on steep inclines and declines.
