One-of-a-Kind CNN en Marcha Vans Originated at University Dodge

With information spreading faster than ever, it’s important for news channels to be mobile, efficient and nimble. In a unique, integrated sponsorship, CNN en Español and RAM created CNN en Marcha, a small fleet of RAM Promaster cargo vans purchased from University Dodge that have been transformed into the ultimate mobile newsroom.

Motivated by the need to get to the story and to tell the story as it happens, CNN Español needed a van strong enough for heavy cameras, and big enough for a space that could be transformed into a mobile newsroom.

To make the RAM Promaster the ultimate traveling multimedia reporting and production tool, the Promaster was specially fitted with all of today’s modern technologies, like wireless Internet, various GoPros, and state-of-the-art technical and audio equipment that was implemented by Pro Audio Nerds. To keep up with social media as it is happening, there is a designated space to broadcast live via Facebook’s new Facebook API Live feature. One of the coolest features is the drone “helipad” located on the Promaster’s roof.

Though the specialized van originated in South Florida, the CNN en Marcha vans travel the country in search of finding and reporting the news as it happens. There’s no more waiting to produce the story until the reporters have come back from an assignment. The van has all of the equipment to produce, edit and stream the story from anywhere.
