North American International Auto Show in Jan. 2016
Kicking off the 2016 year of international car shows and exhibits is the North American International Auto Show. As always, the show will take place in Detroit, Mich.and this year’s show is scheduled for Jan.11-24, with public attendance open from Jan. 16-24.
The North American International Auto Show is a staple to the auto industry as it is traditionally known for debuting many of the auto industry’s biggest trends for the year. Automobiles and related technologies, ranging from safety, manufacturing, and green cars of all kinds will be on display for attendees and media to learn about and test drive.
One of the show’s biggest elements is the introduction of new models by leading manufacturers. This year, Buick is set to debut the Buick Envision, a compact crossover and Honda is expected to introduce Ridgeline, their new line pickup trucks. In 2015, the North American International Auto Show had the highest attendance in over a decade. The final count, including all preview events, was 808,775 ticketed attendees. Additionally, last year’s event had 55 new vehicle introductions and seven different concept cars on display.
The Charity Preview will kick off the event on January 15th. Proceeds from the event directly fund a range of charities focused on helping children. Since its inception in 1976, the Charity Preview has raised more than $101 million.
Ticket prices will be $13 for adults and there will be discounted tickets for children, seniors and groups. On each day of public viewing, the exhibition will be open from 9 a.m.to 10 p.m., and will close at 7 p.m. on the 24th.
