Last year Dodge retired the Dodge Viper and this year Dodge and SRT have been busy adding new performance models to their lineup. Since the start of 2017, there has been news of the new Challenger SRT Demon and Dodge just announced the addition of the Durango SRT.

So what’s the new beast like? The new 2018 Dodge Durango SRT is the most powerful three-row SUV in its class. Under the hood is the award-winning SRT-tuned 475-horsepower 392-cubic-inch (6.4L) HEMI V8 engine. It’s massive engine helps the SUV achieve its National Hot Rod Association (NHRA)–certified quarter-mile time of 12.9 seconds and accelerate from 0-60mph in 4.4 seconds.

In addition to a powerful engine, the Durango SRT also gets a performance boost from exterior features. The Durango SRT has a wide body design and a specially-designed SRT hood that has a center air inlet duct and heat extractors. To safely reign in all 475 horses, the SUV has Brembo high-performance six-piston (front) and four-piston (rear) calipers and vented rotors.

Accompanying the SUV’s performance engine is a luxurious interior. The Durango SRT will come standard with leather and suede seating, but high-performance Demonic Red Laguna leather seating is an available option. The vehicle’s front two seats will be heated and ventilated and the two captain’s chairs in the middle row will be heated.

To improve the driving experience, the new Durango SRT has an SRT flat-bottom performance steering wheel with SRT paddle shifters and the vehicle’s speedometer has been increased to 180 mph.
