Final Viper Special-Edition Models Sold Out, Dodge Releasing Another
Dodge released five special-edition 2017 Viper models to celebrate the Viper’s 25th anniversary and its last year of production. The five models include the 1:28 Edition ACR, GTS-R Commemorative Edition ACR, VoooDoo II Edition ACR, Snakeskin Edition GTC, and the Dodge Dealer Edition ACR. All five of these special edition models sold out very quickly.
Introduced in 1992, the Viper has been with Dodge for 25 years and this will be the third time the vehicle has been discontinued. Known for its exotic look and high speed capabilities, the car has a V-10 engine and has set many records for speed and performance through the years. The Dodge Viper ACR car holds the most track records of any car. Infact, the vehicles ACR (American Club Racer) model is the fastest street legal track car.
These 2017 special edition vehicles became available on June 24, and a two of the models sold out in a matter of minutes and three models sold out in a few days. All 28 units of the 1:28 Edition ACR sold out within 40 minutes, all 31 units of the VoooDoo II Edition ACR sold out within two hours, and all 25 units of the Snakeskin Edition GTC as well as the 100 units of the GTS-R Commemorative Edition ACR sold out within two days.
In response to the high demand of 2017 Viper models, Dodge announced they will be adding one more special-edition Viper, and that it will be available in mid-July. The model will be based on the Snakeskin ACR and they will produce 31 units.
