Dodge Shines in the Next Installment of the “Fast & Furious” Franchise
Dodge has largely been involved with Universal Pictures’ blockbuster “Fast & Furious” franchise since its inception. These days, the franchise’s latest offering — F9 — is close to debuting in theaters and Dodge announced its partnering with the film studio once again. F9 launches in theaters on June 25, 2021, a year after its intended debut was derailed by the coronavirus pandemic. In support of the film’s release, Dodge debuted a multi-tier marketing campaign titled “Superpower.” The campaign includes social and digital media extensions, traditional tv spots, and in-theater placements.
The shared campaign not only promotes the “Fast” franchise — which has earned over $5 billion worldwide– it promotes Dodge’s lineup of fastest and most powerful muscle cars as well. Character Dom Toretto’s classic vintage 1960 Dodge Charger, along with the latest Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody, both star in “F9” and are included in the campaign. The 60-second “Superpower” spot launched June 11 (2021) across Dodge’s social media channels. Dodge will also run a 30-second variant of the spot across television.
“Dodge vehicles have played a pivotal role in the ‘Fast’ saga, helping to fuel this incredible franchise for nearly two decades. Since the beginning, Universal Pictures has shown its commitment to our partnership by creating stories where some of the world’s most iconic and significant performance vehicles became beloved characters and an important part of the ‘Fast’ family,” said Olivier Francois, Global Chief Marketing Officer, Stellantis.
Cars and movies come together once more as a part of the summer multimedia campaign as Dodge, Atlantic Records, and Universal Pictures join efforts in support of “F9.” The new track “I Won” by Ty Dolla $ign, Jack Harlow and 24kGoldn is included in the “F9” soundtrack and also features numerous Dodge vehicles, including the 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody and the 2021 Dodge Challenger SRT Stock.
Dodge vehicles included in the 60-second “Superpower” clip include:
- Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody (White Knuckle with Satin Black graphics)
- Dodge Charger Scat Pack Widebody (Indigo with Satin Black graphics)
- Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody (TorRed)

“‘Fast & Furious’ heroes don’t wear capes, they drive muscle cars. With Dodge, horsepower is our superpower, and Dodge and the Brotherhood of Muscle have become central characters in the enduring ‘Fast & Furious’ family, racing high-octane joy to generations of performance enthusiasts and cementing America’s muscle car brand as a key component of this iconic film franchise,” said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge Brand Chief Executive Officer — Stellantis.
