Dodge Racing Drivers Kill it for Schumacher Racing

Schumacher’s Dodge Charger funny car drivers were off to a rough start this racing season, besides Capps taking the win at Wally. They were behind Ford, Toyota, and Chevrolet teams. However, the Dodge team is finally making a comeback following the Spring Nationals in Texas.

The Schumacher’s Dodge team were the only drivers to reach the finals in both the Southern Nationals and the Kansas Nationals. Then, they did it again at the New England Nationals. Ron Capps killed it for the Dodge team at the New England nationals with a time of 3.865, his all time career record. Following his first place win in the first round came the rest of the dodge team: Johnson, Beckman, and Hagan. All of the Dodge drivers placing in this round.

In the final round of the race it was one Dodge team member against the other, Capps against Johnson. Johnson was winning the race, but in the last minute Capps came up for the win. This marked Capps second first place of the season and Schumacher Racing’s fourth first place of the season. After the New England Finals, two Dodge racers now place in the top three overall, behind Courtney Force with the Chevrolet team. Beckman is a close second place, followed by Capps. Hagan and Johnson are placed in the top 10 overall at 6th and 9th. Go Dodge!
