Dodge Makes Changes to the Durango Lineup for the 2022 Model Year

February 2nd, 2022 by

Changes abound for the 2022 Dodge Durango, including the discontinuation of its highly-popular Durango SRT Hellcat trim. The option is no longer available for configuration on Dodge’s official site. Instead, it’s now the Durango SRT 392 reigns supreme on the Durango food chain. Powered by a HEMI just the same, the SRT 392 trim of the Durango boasts 475 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. Additionally, the Durango SRT 392 includes a full-time all-wheel drive system that actively splits torque 40 (front)/60 (rear), and 30/70 while Track Mode is engaged.

As for the rest of the lineup, the configurator has the SXT as the starting trim with a starting price of $35,475 (plus taxes and destination fees). The entry-level SXT trim is followed by the GT and all-new GT Plus trim – the GT trim is powered by a standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, but A 5.7-liter HEMI engine follows under the hood of the G/T Plus and R/T trims. The Citadel trim focuses primarily on interior comforts instead of performance.

Dodge Durango R/T Plus

As we mentioned prior, the R/T Plus trim is all-new to the Durango lineup. It comes standard with the 5.7-liter V8 and numerous interior amenities including Napa leather upholstery, accent stitching, perforated inserts, a sunroof, Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking, a Premium Interior Package, and a Harman Kardon audio system. Additional standard features include the use of Dinamica suede for the headliner, Blind-Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning, and Adaptive Cruise Control.

Dodge also offers buyers the option of adding the Tow N’ Go Package that makes the Durango capable of towing up to 8,700 pounds. Performance figures of the G/T Plus trim rate at 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. As for infotainment solutions, Dodge made an 8.4-inch touchscreen display standard across all trims. Uconnect 4 is standard on the low-tier trims of the Durango, but Dodge brings its best with the highly-responsive Uconnect 5. In addition, there’s an available 10.1-inch touchscreen display as well– and it’s lauded as the largest in this segment.
