Dodge Grand Caravan is the Ultimate Getaway Vehicle, At Least It Is in Weeds
Big family? Then when you are looking for the right vehicle for your family, you’re probably searching for something that can comfortably seat a lot of passengers, and your things, especially for road trips or a family getaway. The Dodge Grand Caravan is an excellent choice, and if you don’t believe us, Mary Louise-Parker used a Dodge Grand Caravan as the vehicle she needed for her family to flee in the HBO series, Weeds.
The Dodge Grand Caravan can seat up to seven passengers, so it was definitely spacious for the show’s five member family.
Don’t need all 7 seats? The Dodge Grand Caravan is equipped with Stow ‘n Go seating, so the two captain’s seats in the middle row easily fold up and can be stored in the floor of the minivan. If you do use the two seats for passengers, the floor storage that holds the seats doubles as a floor storage compartment when the seats are not stowed away.
Whether your family is “fleeing” like the show’s family, of if you’re just making a road trip, you want a vehicle that is also fuel efficient. The Dodge Grand Caravan has a fuel economy of 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg when on the highway, not bad for a spacious minivan.
The Dodge Grand Caravan is also equipped with an engine that has good power. All six of the Dodge Grand Caravan trims have a 3.6-liter V6 engine paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. This engine generates 283 horsepower and has a maximum towing capacity of 3,600 pounds, which is enough to tow a few jetskis.
Not only is the Dodge Grand Caravan a great everyday vehicle for big families, but it offers families the space, fuel economy and power that they might need for road trips, or maybe even a crazy family “getaway”.
