Dodge Earns Second Consecutive Brand Image Award from KBB

April 17th, 2020 by

Dodge muscle cars are known for their menacing, aggressive design and Kelley Blue Book (KBB) is recognizing the automaker for its standout styling in its 2020 Brand Image Awards. This marks the second consecutive year in which Dodge earns the “Best Car Styling Brand” award. KBB examines annual new-car buyer data from the following categories: luxury, non-luxury, and truck shoppers.

“Dodge’s muscle car design and attitude prove to be attractive to the consumer eye. Staying true to its brand, Dodge continues to offer its iconic muscle car experience and new-car shoppers agree that it tops the competition in exterior styling,” said Isabelle Helms, Vice President of Research and Market intelligence for Cox Automotive.

According to a study (New Vehicle Customer Study: October 2018 – September 2019) by MaritzCX, the top purchase reasons for Dodge models include overall exterior styling, overall power and acceleration, and being “fun to drive.” Dodge consistently delivers the automotive industry’s most powerful and capable muscle car lineup — especially in 2020 when other automakers shy away from potent vehicles. The brand expanded its 2020 lineup with the introduction of the Charger Widebody — a most welcomed addition to America’s only four-door muscle car lineup. The Widebody package on the Dodge Charger can be had on the Charger SRT Hellcat or the Charger Scat Pack, and it includes new integrated fender flares that add 3.5 inches of body width.

Dodge is also celebrating the 50th anniversary of its iconic Challenger model with a  limited-production 50th Anniversary Edition for the vehicle’s golden anniversary. The 50th Anniversary Edition of the Dodge Challenger includes a new available exterior paint color, unique badging and heritage style, and a body-colored shaker hood on the vehicles powered by the powerful HEMI V8 engine. When powered by the 797-horsepower HEMI V8 Demon engine, the Dodge Challenger remains the most powerful and fastest muscle car on the market. The Widebody package we mentioned earlier is also available on the Challenger R/T Scat Pack, SRT Hellcat and SRT Hellcat Redeye Challenger trims.

Rounding out Dodge’s performance-oriented vehicles is the dodge Durango SRT — the fastest, most powerful, and most capable American three-row SUV available today. It’s powered by the 392-cubic-inch HEMI V8 engine, with 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to the HEMI engine, the Durango SRT completes the quarter-mile in 12.9 seconds, and goes from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds, as certified by the National Hot Rod Association. The 2020 Dodge Durango SRT also offers buyers best-in-class towing capabilities at 8,700 pounds.

Not all Durango trims are powered by a powerful HEMI engine, but all trims can enjoy a performance look thanks to a functional SRT hood whose center air inlet duct is available of Durango GT trims and above powered by the standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine. Additionally, dodge continues to offer various appearance packages that make owners feel as if they’re buying customized vehicles. Packages include different wheel finishes, color stripes, all-original badges, Dodge heritage colors, and much more. The KBB award is just the icing on the cake for Dodge, who enjoyed its best six-month sales in muscle car history during the second half of 2019 with record combined sales of Challenger and Charger models totaling 84,216 units.
