6 Things to Love About the 2022 Dodge Durango
The muscle is strong on the 2022 Dodge Durango. Few sharp edges, along with substantive visual elements make this crossover quite the solid contender when it comes to breaking away from the more conventional family vehicles. Capability and performance are second nature when it comes to the 2022 Durango. If buyers seek three rows of seating, fantastic style, a commanding presence, and a powerful engine to boot, then the Dodge Durango is the SUV that’s going to give them all they need and more. Here are six reasons to love the 2022 Dodge Durango:
No Cutting Corners
The Durango means business and it certainly looks the part thanks to its stance, build and overall strength. This impressive vehicle doesn’t “mince words” and with just one look reminds enthusiasts that it’s part of the same brand that brings them the Challenger and Charger muscle cars. Although not exactly designed to shred a race track, the Durango has plenty of room and power to carry a heavy load.
HEMI Power
There aren’t many SUVs out there that can offer buyers V8 engines these days, but the Durango offers buyers two different HEMI V8 engines to choose from. There’s the classic 5.7-liter V8 that generates 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque, while a larger 6.4-liter V8 engine is pushing 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. Both engines, no matter the displacement, are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Towing figures for both the 5.7- and 6.4-liter engines stand at 8,700 pounds.
Upgrades for 2022
Buyers can expect the following additional standard features on the 2022 Durango SXT trim: a power-adjustable driver’s seat, Blind-Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic alert, rear parking sensors, roof rails, and a third-row seat. On the GT trim buyers can now enjoy standard remote start, a heated steering wheel, a power-operated rear liftgate, and heated front seats. The GT Plus trim includes standard memory settings for the driver, rain-sensing windshield wipers, scuff plates in the rear cargo area, heated rear seats, and the addition of leather-and-suede upholstery. Up next is the R/T Plus trim which adds a standard sunroof, a Harman/Kardon audio system, Nappa leather upholstery with contrast stitching, and an advanced emergency braking system.
Stay Connected
Modernized with an infotainment system to match, the 2022 Dodge Durango now comes with the latest Uconnect 5. Looking through the menu has never been easier as Uconnect 5 boasts improved response times along with instant vehicle readings, Apple CarPlay and Google Android connectivity – all on a 10.1-inch touchscreen display.
The Citadel
The trim name perfectly encompasses how the Durango takes things to new heights in the 2022 year as the top tier trim. Granted it’s the most luxurious of the bunch, buyers can expect to find the following: chrome exterior trim, Nappa leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, a power sunroof, heated second-row captain’s chairs, Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Lane-Keep Assist.
Cargo, Precious Cargo
With all three rows in the upright position there’s 17.2 cubic feet to enjoy, but once the third row is lowered while not in use the Durango offers 43.3 cubic feet of cargo space. In the rare case that owners are in need of even more cargo, folding both rear rows yields 85.1 cubic feet of space.
