The current Ram 1500 is available with a streamlined choice of three engines for simplicity. The base option features a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine paired with a mild-hybrid system. For higher-spec models, the powerplant of choice is the 3.0-liter inline-6 Hurricane engine. The 2024 Ford F-150 provides a selection of four engine options, which in turn expand its price range, featuring the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 as the default choice. Additional engine alternatives encompass a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, a 3.5-liter PowerBoost Full Hybrid V6, and a 5.0-liter V8 engine.

Often referred to as the Hellcat engine, the Ram 1500 TRX offers 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. Off-road prowess for the TRX doesn’t just stop there, it’s designed for off-road adventures, tackling mud, rocks, and sand with ease. Supported by a robust steel frame, it features a reinforced suspension system, capable of flexing and bounding with over 13 inches of travel. Riding on substantial 35-inch all-terrain tires mounted on 18-inch wheels, the truck enjoys an impressive 11.8 inches of ground clearance. According to Ram, the half-ton Hellcat can navigate through water with a depth of up to 32 inches. Every TRX model is equipped with substantial underbody plating for enhanced protection, Bilstein remote-reservoir dampers, an electronic-locking rear differential, and formidable 15.0-inch front brakes.
Ford’s response to the Ram 1500 TRX is the Ford F-150 Tremor. The F-150 Tremor from Ford features a set of 18-inch aluminum wheels, specialized off-road shocks, tires, and a host of additional equipment.

A spacious truck bed is a crucial aspect for pickups, and both the F-150 and Ram 1500 excel in this regard. Upon close examination, it becomes evident that the Ford and Ram offer comparable bed sizes. The F-150 provides options for a short, standard, and long bed, whereas the Ram is available in short and standard bed sizes. Despite this difference, the short beds in both trucks are essentially the same size, while the standard bed in the Ford is longer by two and a half inches. The beds share the same height, but the Ram’s bed is slightly wider.
