As previously mentioned, the 2018 Ram Chassis Cab comes with three different variants – the 3500 Ram Chassis Cab, 4500 Chassis Cab, and 5500 Chassis Cab. All models are also offered with two cab sizes, regular cab and crew cab. The Chassis cab with a crew cab is available in three trim levels – Tradesman, SLT, and Laramie. The regular cab models are only available in the Tradesman and SLT trims.
The following specs are specifically for the 3500 model – the 3500 comes standard with a 6.4-liter V8 heavy duty HEMI engine and an optional 6.7-liter I6 Cummins Turbo Diesel Engine. The 6.4-liter engine can generate 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque, while the larger 6.7-liter engine can output 385 horsepower and 900 lb-ft of torque. The 6.4-liter HEMI engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, with the option of a six-speed manual transmission. Additional standard engine features include heavy duty engine cooling, auxiliary transmission oil cooler, and anti-lock four-wheel disc brakes.
Fortunately, the three models for the 2018 Ram Chassis Cab share much of the same configuration options. The Ram Chassis Cab 3500 Tradesman and 3500 SLT trim levels are available in 4×2 or 4×4 drivetrains. The Ram 3500 Chassis Cab has a maximum towing capacity of 18,050 pounds and a payload capacity of 4,900 pounds. The Ram 4500 Chassis Cab has a maximum towing capacity of 25,650 pounds and a max payload of 8,880 pounds, and finally the Ram 5500 Chassis Cab has a towing capacity of 30,600 pounds and payload of 11,630 pounds.
