The 2018 Dodge Charger is available in 10 different trims, two of which have an all-wheel drivetrain, which makes them great when roads are icy, rainy or snowy, and the other eight trims have rear-wheel drive, which is fairly standard on muscle cars. This year the Dodge Charger lineup includes the SXT, SXT Plus, SXT Plus Leather, GT (AWD) GT Plus (AWD) R/T Scat Pack, SRT 392 and the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. The two special-edition models, the Charger Daytona and Charger Daytona 392, are still available as well.

All Dodge Charger models are equipped with the TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission. The TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission, a.k.a. AutoStick provides the ability of clutchless manual shifting if desired. When the Dodge Charger is equipped with the 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine it has an average fuel economy of 19 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway on SXT models and 27 mpg on the highway on GT models.

Regardless of preference, the 2018 Charger provides top notch muscle engines from the base model all the way to the Charger SRT Hellcat. The 2018 Dodge Charger SXT, Charger SXT Plus, the Charger GT AWD and Charger GT Plus AWD carry the Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 engine, which provides 300 horsepower and 264 lb-ft of torque.

5.7L HEMI V8 Engine

For HEMI lovers, the Charger R/T and Charger Daytona are equipped with a 370-horsepower 5.7-liter V8 HEMI engine. Drivers will appreciate the engine’s fuel economy because the engine is equipped with VVT and it has a multi-displacement system (MDS). MDS is modern technology that rewards drivers with smart engine performance and better mileage. When the vehicle coasts, four of the eight cylinders are turned off to conserve fuel while using cruise control.

6.4L HEMI SRT Engine

The 2018 Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack, Charger Daytona 392 and Charger SRT 392 are equipped with the 392 HEMI SRT V8 engine under the hood. The 6.4-liter SRT engine racks up 485 horsepower and 475-Ib-ft of torque and helps the Dodge Charger to accelerate from 0-60 mph in the low fou-second range. The 6.4L SRT engine is also available with MDS.

Supercharged 6.2L SRT Hellcat Engine

True power lovers don’t need to look any further than the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, the most powerful factory produced sedan in the world. The Charger SRT Hellcat is equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI SRT Hellcat V8  that surpasses all other Charger engines with 707 horsepower 650 ib-ft of torque. The Charger SRT Hellcat has a top speed of 204 mph, completes a quarter-mile in 11.4 seconds and goes from 0-60 in 3.4 seconds!

Infotainment on the Dodge Charger provides a friendly and responsive Uconnect 4 system, standard on all trims. The base trim, the Charger SXT, has Uconnect 4 on a 7-inch touchscreen as the rest of the lineup gets Uconnect 4C on an 8.4-inch touchscreen display coupling navigation as an option for many trims. From Apple CarPlay to Google Android Auto capabilities, these are standard along with integrated Bluetooth voice command allow for the increasingly important hands-free driving experience.

Included for audioates, a six-speaker system is the standard for just the base trim, whereas the rest of the lineup is treated to a six premium speaker sound system. Some trims have the option of choosing the Beats Audio Group or upgrading to a 19-speaker sound system with a subwoofer. Dodge Performance Pages for recording acceleration, track times, and more are standard on the 2018 Dodge Charger Daytona, R/T Scat Pack, and Daytona 392. SRT Performance Pages are found on the two SRT trims, the 2018 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat and SRT 392.
