While the Dodge Charger, Challenger and Durango are busy making a whole bunch of noise, the 2017 Dodge Journey remains a quiet, yet loved, vehicle on Dodge’s lineup. The 2017 Journey lineup includes five trims, all of which have excellent standard features, available convenience options and different price points.
EngineAvailable with seating for five or seven passengers, the Journey is also available with two engine options and front- or all-wheel drive. Of the two engines, the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine is the more powerful engine and the 2.4-liter I4 has a better fuel economy.

The 3.6L engine pushes out 283 horsepower and it is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. The 2.4L engine is produces 170 horsepower and it is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. The 3.6L engine has a combined fuel economy of 19 mpg city/highway and the 2.4L engine has a combined fuel economy of 21 mpg city/highway.

Interior

Depending on the trim, the Journey comes standard with cloth or leather seats. When equipped with three rows, the Journey is the most affordable seven-passenger vehicle on the market. The vehicle’s second and third rows are reclining seats that can be folded flat, when flat 67.6 cu. ft. of cargo space opens up.

Standard convenience features on the Journey include multiple 12-volt power outlets, second-row in-floor storage bins, cargo tie down loops, and driver and passenger lower LED lamps. Buyers that wish to upgrade their Journey can do so with a variety of available packages that include several features like a heated steering wheel heated seats.

The Journey is equipped with great entertainment features. It comes standard with a 4.3-inch touchscreen display and six speakers, but both features can be upgraded. Uconnect voice command with Bluetooth is available, as is SiriusXM satellite radio.

Exterior

The Journey is a midsize crossover and it has a modern, yet slightly rugged appearance. Like the bigger Dodge Durango, the Dodge Journey has sharp lines and an exterior design that looks fresh and unique. The Journey proudly wears Dodge’s signature “crosshair grille” and it is available in all-black or black and chrome.
The Journey comes standard with heated exterior side mirrors, 17-inch rims, a rear-window defroster and a rear-window windshield wiper. For individual style, buyers can choose from seven different exterior colors and Mopar offers a variety of exterior parts.
