The powerful new 2016 Ram 2500 is offered in 11 distinct styles, each with its own identity and available in a wide range of configurations and options.

Interior

The entry-level 2016 Ram 2500 Tradesman is anything but basic and comes in three cab and box configurations. There is the regular cab with an 8-foot box, crew cab with a 6-foot box and crew cab with an 8-foot box.
The Tradesman comes standard with tough, high-quality vinyl seating that is easy to clean after a tough or messy job. Buyer’s have the option of choosing a black or gray interior. There is a large console compartment between the front seats for large item storage. The crew cab configuration provides ample under-seat storage for tools and other essential items within easy reach.

Electronic Range Select (ERS) is a standard feature that allows the driver to automatically or manually adapt to the correct gear for climbing or descending with a heavy load. The 2016 Tradesman is equipped with a 3.0 AM-FM radio and the largest-in-class electronic information center with a 7-inch cluster display, colorful graphics and available personalized settings.

Powertrain Options

The standard engine for the 2016 Ram 2500 Tradesman is a 5.7-liter V8 HEMI VVT that delivers a robust 383-horsepower and 400 ft-lbs of torque. The maximum towing capacity when properly equipped is 13,890 lbs. The Tradesman has a maximum bed payload of 3,061 lbs.
An additional gasoline-powered option is the 6.8-liter V8 Mid-Duty HEMI MDS that generates 410-horsepower and can tow up to 16,320 lbs. A diesel choice is the 6.7-liter I6 Cummins Turbo Diesel delivering 379-horsepower with a towing capability of 17,980 lbs. The 5.7-liter HEMI powered by CNG (compressed natural gas) yields 383-horsepower with towing limit of 12,520 lbs. Each of these optional engines add $1,395, $8,995 and $11,000, respectively.

Exterior

The side profile and prominent front features of the 2016 Ram 2500 Tradesman exude hard work and capability. The large trapezoidal grille bearing the famous Ram logo is quickly recognizable and leaves no doubt that this truck is built for any job. Power side exterior mirrors with integrated turn signals and heated defrost are available along with Tailgate Lift Assist to reduce the effort required to raise and lower the tailgate. Buyers have the option of 12 exterior colors.
The optional Rambox Cargo Management System fits securely in the rear box to store tools and other gear safely. The Rambox can be locked and has drain ports if used for beverages. The 2016 Ram Tradesman comes standard with 17” x 7.5” steel-styled wheels.

Safety

To be more than a good-looking hard-worker, the designers at Ram have incorporated several safety features into the 2016 Ram 2500. The Tradesman comes standard with advanced multi-stage airbags plus a front stabilizer bar. Also standard is Trailer Brake Control, Tire Pressure Monitoring and Sentry Key Theft Deterrent. To assist with parking and reversing, Dodge Trucks offers optional Parkview rear backup camera.

Price

The starting MSRP for the nicely equipped 2016 Dodge Ram 2500 Tradesman is $31,780.
Dodge Ram 2500 Upgrades
The 2016 Ram 2500 Big Horn trim level brings a range of even more exciting options. The 4×4 Big Horn starts at $46,420 MSRP and offers a MegaCab version that has more interior space and luxury. Complete with chrome grille, Ram 2500door handles and other exterior pieces, the Bighorn adds fog lamps, keyless entry with security alarm, power front windows, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and optional 18-inch polished aluminum wheels.

Also available with the Big Horn is the UConnect infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen display that allows the driver to place and receive calls hands-free. Also the system has a range of entertainment available including SiriusXM Satellite Radio and optional navigation.
