Ram is an awarded manufacturer that includes trucks and vans that are designed for the heavy-duty work place. Capabilities

The Ram 1500 Tradesman is equipped with a 3.6-liter, V6 engine and a powerful Torqueflite eight-speed transmission. This durable and forceful engine with 305 horsepower provides exceptional torque, yet at 17 MPG city and 25 MPG highway, it has better fuel economy than most other full-size pickup trucks on the market.

Built for workmen, the basic Ram 1500 comes with a Class IV receiver hitch, a towing capability of 10,840 lbs. and payload capacity of 1,898 lbs. Additionally, the truck has hill start assistance that makes it easier to get moving even with heavy loads. This feature helps reduce the chances of a vehicle with a heavy load from rolling back when the driver’s foot off is no longer on the break.

The Tradesman has adjustable air springs allows drivers to raise and lower the truck to five different riding heights. Designed with easy-to-access dashboard controls make it easy to make these height adjustments when extra clearance is needed. Additionally, Smart sensors will automatically lower your truck when traveling at highway speeds to increase fuel efficiency and eliminate drag.

Exterior

The Tradesman is a regular 2-door cab but there are other 1500’s that include a four-door box cab. The truck’s wheels are 17” steel wheels with Goodyear tires and a full-size spare is included. Once the size of the cab is selected, buyers can choose the the bed length with no significant impact on cost.

Interior

Standard interior features include an electronic vehicle information center, air conditioning, an anti-lock system with disc brake pads. The standard entertainment features include an auxiliary outlet and 3.0 radio.

Safety

The Dodge Ram 1500 has some advanced safety features. Automatic headlamps come on by themselves, and fog lamps illuminate hard to see roads when it’s foggy outside. Dynamic front crumple zones are located on the front bumper. Crumple zones are designed to bear majority of force during an impact to keep drivers safe. Side impact door beams provide extra protection to cab passengers during an accident.

The Dodge Ram is also equipped with an advanced air bag system including side curtain airbags which deploy at three different speeds depending on the severity of the impact. Aside from anti-lock brakes and traction and electronic stability control the Ram offers trailer-sway control. This uses the brakes and stability control to reduce and eliminate the swaying effect that is common during towing.

Buyers can choose from a variety of additional interior accessories to add to their truck. Interior choices include split bucket seats with a built in three cup holder armrest, leather wrapped steering wheels, rear sliding glass windows and illuminated ash tray, vanity mirror and glove box lights. There is also a comfort package is available and it includes heated seats and a heated steering wheel.
There are additional safety features such as parking sensors for the front and rear, a rear-view camera to assist with backing up and large folding side mirrors.

Intended for heavy-duty jobs, there are several excellent exterior features that make the 1500 an excellent work truck. The optional Tonneau Cover helps improves the car’s efficiency because it has a positive effect on airflow and reduces negative drag.
