2016 Dodge Charger
Trims, Power and Engines
There are a total of seven Dodge Charger models and four engine options. The Charger comes standard with rear-wheel drive, but buyers have the option of all-wheel drive on the Charger SXT and SXT Plus trims.
Any driver could appreciate the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI SRT Hellcat V8, but not everyone wants all of that engine for a daily drive. The 2016 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat generates 707-horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, making it the world’s fastest sedan.
However there are many other options, such as the 485-hp 6.4-liter HEMI V8 (available on the Charger R/T Scat Pack and SRT 392), and the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 (standard on Charger R/T) which is among the more fuel-efficient options, 25 MPG on the highway. Lastly, the 292-horsepower 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 utilizes VVT and Electronic Throttle Control to deliver 31 MPG on the highway.
Drivers will be happy with the TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, an important component that helps to optimize the Dodge Charger’s performance as well as its fuel efficiency. Seamlessly switch through gears, and with the current braking technology, every trim is designed to have optimal stopping power.

Fierce Sculpted Style
A Dodge Charger is not without some style and the 2016 models have it in spades. From the stunning exterior to the comfortable interior, drivers will feel right at home when on the road in the 2016 Dodge Charger. Sculpted for elegance, yet made with that aggressive look, all the curves and angles lead into the crosshair grille upfront to let others know a true muscle car is coming through. With heated mirrors, drivers need not fear fogging in rain, sleet, or snow for clear vision at all times. Plus, the ability to remotely start one’s vehicle is pretty convenient.
On the inside, a number of premium materials went into making the Dodge Charger a luxury sedan. There are many options for standard seating, including quality Nappa leather, but some of the true luxury features are ventilated/heated seats and Dual-Zone Automatic Temperature Control, both available on specific trims. For cargo space, the rear seatbacks have a 60/40 split-fold, opening up 16.5 cubic feet of space.
Technology
Nothing says technology in a Dodge like Uconnect multimedia and an infotainment system. Passengers and drivers can listen to favorite music thanks to the media hub complete with SiriusXM and Bluetooth capability. Depending on the trim, those sweet sounds will come from either the six-speaker audio system or the Beats Audio Premium Sound System. Plus, to help everyone stay connected, dual-charging USB ports can be found around the cabin.
Safety is not lacking in the 2016 Dodge Charger either, with all-speed traction control and Electronic Stability Control to help drivers keep the vehicle under control, and advanced safety tech such as Rear Cross Path Detection and the ParkSense Rear Park Assist. Made sturdy, the exterior and overall frame has crumple zones to keep passengers safe, and the advanced multistage driver and front passenger airbags will always be there to provide a softer landing than the dash.
