Engine Type

The 2023 Dodge Durango lineup consists of six trims: SXT, GT, RT, Citadel, SRT 392, and SRT Hellcat. A 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 is the standard engine beneath the hood of the SXT, SXT Plus, GT, GT Plus, and Citadel, capable of generating 290 horsepower. The Durango RT is powered by a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 that generates 360 horsepower, while the Durango SRT 392 is powered by a larger 6.4-liter HEMI V8 that offers a hefty 475 horsepower. Both the SRT and SRT Hellcat trims offer standard all-wheel-drive, while the remaining trims come standard with rear-wheel-drive, keeping the Durango athletic and muscular.

What’s New for 2023?

The 2023 Dodge Durango sees very few updates for the model year, but buyers now have access to four new exterior color options–Red Oxide, Triple Nickel, Frostbite, and Night Moves. Forward Collision Warning is now available on the entry-level 2023 Durango SXT, while heated front seats are standard across the entire lineup regardless of trim. Experts consider the mid-tier GT trim the best of the bunch, but buyers looking for performance should choose between the Durango SRT or Durango SRT Hellcat trims for optimal HEMI V8 performance. Another upgrade available on the 2023 Durango lineup is a new 10.1-inch infotainment unit which includes in-dash navigation and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.

Wheel sizes range from 17-20 inches and are offered in different finishes. Additionally, prospective buyers can personalize their Durango with optional stripes packages and a Stow ‘n Place roof rack that can withstand up to 150-lbs of cargo.

Interior Features

Dodge doesn’t shy away from putting the muscle in muscle cars, and although the 2023 Durango is technically a three-row SUV, its cabin was directly inspired by the Dodge Challenger. Gauges with red and white accents are standard, as is a leather-wrapped steering wheel and wheel-mounted controls. Prospective buyers can choose from 15 different seat swatches, including Nappa leather upholstery, houndstooth design and much more. The standard second-row center console includes climate controls and a 115-volt outlet that’s sure to prove useful for passengers riding in the backseat.
